New Zealand news
January 2012:
We have been busy in the Wanaka office over the last year, getting our clients pre-1990 forests registered in time for the 30th November 2011 deadline.
Our team has been out and about identifying native regenerated forest areas on marginal farmland. These are often large areas that are not financially viable to farm, but can be financially and environmentally beneficial as carbon projects.
If you have exotic forest or regenerated native forest (established since 1990) you might be able to enter into the Emissions Trading Scheme or the Permanent Forest Sink Initiative and supplement your farming income. We offer a comprehensive Cost Benefit Analysis to identify eligible areas on your land and provide you with a detailed analysis of costs involved and expected revenue.
Our ETS specific services include:
- Assessing the suitability of the land and/or forest for carbon farming
- Cost Benefit Analysis
- Forest Management Plans
- Project Development
- Field Measurement
- Registration of credits
- Providing on-going monitoring
- Sourcing buyers and facilitating the sale of carbon credits
