'When it was first mentioned I thought it was all bulldust. Now I have realised that the more we know the better we will be placed.' (Peter)
'Going from uninformed ignorance to partly educated intelligence. Great to see facilitators that do not patronise the farmers. They were understanding, non-biased and open to dicussion.' (Michael)
Greenhouse gas accounting in agriculture is aimed at landholders and managers who are interested in conducting a greenhouse gas audit of their farm. The morning session covers 4 parts concerning the science behind land-based greenhouse gas emissions and abatement, greenhouse gas accounting and practical strategies to adapt to new opportunities presently being offered. In the afternoon the course the group is split into 2 sessions using a workshop structure. The workshop provides guidance to land managers on how to conduct a farm based GHG inventory and develop feasibility assessments for implementing sustainable land management practices and carbon abatement projects.
